Ganpatipule BeachGanpatipule Beach
The gorgeous beach village of Ganapatipule in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra is amongst the virgin beaches on the Konkan coast. The pristine air, the blue waters, the golden sands and the emerald pastures add to the beauty of the holy land of Ganapatipule.

The beach village of Ganapatipule derives its name from Ganapati and Pule. The former is an alias for the elephant headed God Ganesha and the latter means sand dunes. Thus, your trip to Ganapatipule will be considered incomplete without a visit to the Ganapatipule temple. The temple is set at the foothills of the lush green Konkan hills and adjacent to the amazingly beautiful Arabian Sea. It is dedicated to Lord Ganesha and is built on the sand dunes. Since the 16th century Ganapatipule receives thousands of pilgrims and tourists. People have encircled the sacred hill n number of times. The encircling or pradhikshina is a sacred ritual. Besides the temple you may check out the Malgund, the birthplace of the famous Marathi Poet Keshavsoot or pay a visit to Pawas renowned for the ashram of Swami Swaroopanand.
